MiniPac
Environmental Control Units
model ECU06A20-1.0

The Marvair MiniPac Environmental Control Unit (ECU) is designed for the telecommunications cabinet or enclosure. The versatile design allows the unit to be either installed inside or with the optional rain hood, on the outside of the enclosure. (see its dimensions)

Marvair MiniPac
MiniPac units have as standard the necessary features to maintain the proper environmental control demanded by the telecommunication industry. The MiniPac is designed for use in ambients from 0°F (-18°C) to 120°F (49°C). The low noise level makes the unit ideal for installation in urban and residential areas. The MiniPac is available in nominal cooling capacities of 5,500 BTUH (.5 tons). click here to view dimensions

Standard Features

Designed for operation in low ambient conditions:

  • Low ambient control cycles condenser blower to regulate proper refrigerant pressures.
  • Timed low pressure by-pass for start-up of A/C below 20°F (-7°C) and down to 0°F (-18°C).

Remote alarm capability

  • Dry contacts can be used for remote alarm or notification upon air conditioner lockout.

Built-in reliability

  • High and low pressure switches with lockout relay protects refrigerant circuit.
  • Time delay/anti-short cycle timer.
  • Frost sensor to protect refrigeration circuit.
  • Internal thermostat (optional).

Rugged construction

  • Blowers on evaporator and condenser sections
  • Indoor or outdoor installation. (Outdoor installation requires optional rain hood.)
  • Coated condenser coil.
  • Copper tube, aluminum fin evaporator and condenser coils.
  • Factory-installed heater (optional).
  • Rotary compressor.
  • Additional crankcase heater (optional).
  • Baked-on neutral beige finish over galvaneal steel for maximum cabinet life.

Ease of service

  • Light weight allows easy field replacement of unit.

Operation

The MiniPac ECU is controlled by a thermostat that senses the internal cabinet temperature. When cooling is desired, the compressor, evaporator blower and condenser blower are energized. Cool air is discharged near the bottom of the MiniPac into the cabinet. When two MiniPacs are used on the same cabinet, the Marvair LL357A provides temperature control of the redundant units and equal run time on both units. A field installed jumper wire on the voltage control board in the MiniPac will permit the evaporator blower to run continuously. The MiniPac can also be immediately shut off when used in cabinets with a fire or smoke alarm system. Please refer to the Installation Manual for details.
